King of Pop was really dead

I was just about wrapping up my radio show Ruption when Nyron chimed in with the incredulous news that Micheal Jackson had died. Initially, I disregarded it and thought it to be just another vicious rumour in an attempt to once again taint the legacy of a legend. A couple hours later my worst fears were confirmed that the King of Pop was really confirmed dead.

Mi naaah tell no lie to how him death lick mi, unnu woulda think a mi man! Surprised and angry as to how this could've happened, mi work mi Storm wid mi long nails and call and ping everybody just fi see if dem hear the same news. With every call it was concretised that we had lost a legend of our time.

tragic story

Glued to my television, every station was playing his songs and trying to piece this tragic story together. By this time mi feel low like mi have gas and coulda do wid likkle tea and two crackers. Mi feel mi heart a full up with grief but mi a hol it. Then dem play 'Man in the mirror' and mi just buss out a bawl. Mi seh mi cry like seh Micheal did promise mi something and neva get fi give mi.

Though it may seem strange and I didn't know this man who had impacted my life and generations before and after him, it hurt because now I will never meet the miracle who touched so many lives and because he gave so much love, joy and strength to the world and got back so little in return.

Many of those who took pride in smearing and defaming his character, the media, paparazzi and people mout help drain the already frail soul he was and chu him nuh have nuh cornmeal porridge inna him system him succumb to the vipers emotionally and psychologically.

fame and fortune

I'm not sure I would wish Michael's success on anyone because through the millions, the fame and fortune he was a lonely man. The saying cow neva know the use a him tail til it cut off resonates with the surreal death of this mega star. A jus now everybody a realise the gem he was and his worth; all some a di waggonist dem a shed tears. All now mi cyaan believe him gone ... I'm still speechless. I find myself hoping to turn on the TV to hear that his death was a hoax and or a public relations stunt. The thought that I will never hear another ballad, see his signature rhinestone glove or his infamous crotch move or hear an upbeat song like 'Bad' is quiet daunting.

Micheal's death though heralds the reality that we are all mere mortals and death has no regard for a person's bank book or accomplishments and not even Micheal Jackson is above that. I regard his death as sad because he did not get the opportunity to bask in the joy and happiness he gave to so many.

weird and freaky

People will seh him weird and freaky fi do so much plastic surgery, but when someone is as talented and gifted as Micheal Jackson him must have a quirk. Micheal set trends, raised the bar and has etched a place in history and life for himself. He is undoubtedly the greatest of all time and nobody else not even come close to him shadow. As far as me concerned is like dem all tek a day off from the bombing down a Iraq fi acknowledge him death and grieve with all of us.

It is important to be true to yourself in life and go ahead and live your life because after all is said and done, your time for happiness will come to pass.Understand that you can't live your life to suit people because they will always find a fault and there are people in this life who strive to tear people down. Jesus walk di earth a sinless man and dem still crucify him and I'm sure if Micheal Jackson could do it all over again instead of internalising all the pain him woulda talk di tings dem! He will be forever missed and will never will never be replaced. M J fi Life!
