Man charged with senior's death |

The St Catherine North police have laid charges against a man in connection with the death of 85-year-old Beatrice Campbell who perished in fire after her house was firebombed in Grants Pen, St Andrew on May 8. Crime chief for the St Andrew North Police, Deputy Super-intendent Altermorth 'Parro' Campbell told THE STAR that 28-year-old Gerald Gallimore, also known as 'Birdie' of a Grants Pen address was charged with murder, robbery with aggravation, burglary and illegal possession of a firearm. According to police reports, Campbell was burnt to death after gunmen attacked a house at Oddman Lane in the Grants Pen community. The men set the house ablaze after robbing the residents. The fire left 30 persons homeless. |
