Spirits were definitely twisted on the lawns of the Liguanea Club in New Kingston on Friday night for Twisted Spirits, one of the many events lined up for the RTI Negril Weekend. As patrons strolled in to Stuck On You, Wild World and First Cut Is The Deepest, some early birds made regular trips to the bars, while others stood idly by in groups, having rib-tickling conversations punctuated by hearty laughter. Inside the venue, the décor was picture-perfect, from the lighting, to the positioning and coordination of the booths, with the attire of the patrons complementing the occasion. Lights out With a growing crowd, Twisted Spirits was heading for success until ... pop! the lights went! The venue was at a standstill for close to 15 minutes. Some patrons voiced their anger at the long wait, while others used the time to socialise. With the return of the electricity power, the lawns were immediately brought to life with Thriller from Michael Jackson. A fast-paced soca segment was later introduced, but it was not enough to fully lift the energy level. And at minutes to three, the light went again. disappointed persons opted to leave the venue, but not before pocketing sample condoms that have become a feature at social events.
