Man dies in shoot-out

A man who allegedly engaged members of a police team in a shoot-out in Majesty Gardens, Kingston 11, yesterday was fatally shot. An illegal firearm was seized in the incident.

The dead man has been identified as Clive 'Big Lead' Williams, 45, of Majesty Gardens.

Police told THE STAR that about 5:35 a.m., a team of police was on operation in the area in search of wanted men, illegal guns and drugs. The police entered a house occupied by Williams who reportedly pulled a firearm and opened fire.

The police reportedly returned the fire, hitting Williams. The weapon, a 9mm pistol with five rounds of ammunition, was taken from him. He was pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital.

The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe.
