A cashier accused of stealing more than $400,000 from her employer is to know her fate today. Marblett Robinson, a 52-year-old mother of four, is charged with larceny as a servant. The court was told that Robinson was employed as a cashier in a tile and home goods store. It is alleged that the proprietor noticed a discrepancy between the figure which the system indicated had been collected and the figure that had been handed over to the company. The police were called and after investigations Robinson was arrested and charged. When the matter was mentioned in court, Robinson's lawyer said she was very penitent and asked for lenience from Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. He said Robinson had spent four weeks in custody after her arrest. Robinson was remanded and the matter was set for sentencing today. |
