Man remanded for larceny |

|
Two men accused of breaking into a store and stealing boxes of cosmetics appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday. Charged with shop breaking and larceny are Kemar Daniels and Omar Lindo. Daniels is also charged with receiving stolen property. The court was told that the men gained entry to the store by cutting a hole in the roof. Cosmetics valued at $180,000 were stolen. It is alleged that Lindo was found with two boxes of the stolen goods. Further investigations reportedly led investigators to Daniels. found boxes Daniels, 22, from a Jones Town address, however, told the court that he was walking along the road and found the boxes, which he took to his house. He said the police came the next day and he was arrested. Lindo, who is from Chancery Lane in the downtown Kingston area, said he was simply standing along the road when the police called him over and accused him of breaking into the store. Daniels was granted $30,000 bail with surety while Lindo was remanded. The matter is to be tried on July 15. |
