Cumberland, Wanderers advance to semi-finals |

|
Cumberland and Wander-ers have advanced to the semi-finals of the Senator Arthur Williams-sponsored Portmore Under-15 Football League following contrasting results between Sunday and Thursday. Cumberland battled to a 2-2 draw with Rodwood on Sunday, to finish their fixture on 25 points, while Wanderers reached the final four without kicking a ball for the past two rounds. Christian Pen scheduled opponents failed to show Thursday, giving the Edgewater-based side, three points, pushing them to 24 points from nine games. Wanderers are expected to top the preliminary round today, as they play minnows Hellshire United. In the meantime, Rodwood, currently fourth on 20 points, is also on the verge of advancing to the next round, as they have lowly placed Portmore Pines to play in their final match. Watson Grove kept their semi-final hopes alive when they spanked Daytona 5-0 at home, and are currently third on 21 points. Five matches are scheduled today. At Passagefort playing field, third place Watson Grove (21) vs fifth place Passagefort United (19) at 1:30 p.m., Braeton United vs Daytona 3:30 p.m.; At Hellshire playing field, semi-finalist Wanderers vs Hellshire 3 p.m.; At Watson Grove playing field, Christian Pen vs Westport 1:30 p.m. Portmore Pines vs Rodwood 3:30 p.m. |
