Custody battle for abused children |
|||||
A custody battle is brewing between a woman and her husband because she believes the children are not being properly cared for by her husband. The mother of the two children said she was forced to leave the matrimonial home because of frequent beatings from him. "I was not working at the time when I was forced to leave the home because of frequent beatings from my husband," she explained. "I could not take my two children with me because I had no settled place to live and I had to seek shelter from relatives. "We are married for 10 years now and I can tell you I really meet hell with that man who is supposed to be my husband. never get them "The simplest thing I say to him always turn out into a quarrel and then a beating." "I regret that when I left the home in June last year I had to leave my two children (a girl and a boy) who are now nine and seven years old. I called my husband last week, telling him I wanted the children to come and live with me but he told me that I would never get them. "I get reports from neighbours that the children are not being cared for properly and that their father rough them and, sometimes, beat them mercilessly. I am now in a better position to take care of my children. Since I left my husband I got a job and I have now rented a house where they can come to live with me. "Do you think the court will give me custody of my children if I take my husband to court? The court is always concerned about the welfare of children and what is best for them. If the court finds that the children will be properly taken care of, if they are in your care and custody, the court will grant you custody. If you think the children are not being properly cared for you should take immediate steps to apply for custody.
