Popular dancehall artiste Desmond 'Ninja Man' Ballentine will have to spend another two months behind bars. Ballentine was remanded yet again when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday after being in custody for almost four months. Yesterday, a preliminary enquiry date was set for September 7. The controversial deejay and his 20-year-old son Janiel Ballentine are charged, along with Clayton Dennis and Seymour Samuels, in connection with the murder of Ricardo Johnson, 20, a resident of Olympic Gardens in St Andrew. Allegations into the incident are that Johnson was gunned down on March 16 at his home after a friend of his and a group of men became involved in an argument. The men reportedly left and returned with guns blazing and Johnson was fatally injured. The entertainer was subsequently identified as a suspect and was arrested and charged. |
