Mavado escapes injuries in car accident
Singjay Mavado was involved in a minor accident in Montego Bay, St James, last Saturday night. The deejay, who was travelling to Negril for Negril Summer Heat, was a passenger in the vehicle but was not hurt in the accident.

Sources close to the deejay told THE STAR that Mavado and his manager Julian Jones-Griffith had been travelling in a friend's vehicle along Queens Drive (popularly known as Top Road) when they were hit by another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of the vehicle that hit them was said to have lost control.

While THE STAR was told that police personnel had been at the scene of the accident, efforts to get an official report were unsuccessful. When asked, the police stated that they did not get a report about the accident. Our source, however, said that the vehicle in which Mavado was travelling was badly damaged but there were no injuries.
