Just under a month before one of the most anticipated events of the summer, the Quad nightclub in New Kingston plays host to ATI Wednesdays, a warm-up venue for the main event to be held in Negril from August 5-9. With a growing crowd each week, as the five-day-long event draws near, ATI Wednesdays provides the mid-week party for patrons to have some fun and excitement as well as the opportunity to win season bands. Inside Oxygen, Kurt Riley, Renaissance and DJ Bambino controlled the wheels of steel, each with a different style, creating a sweet musical blend. 'Gun fingers' and lighters aimed skyward showed approval to Alozade's Nuh Watch Gyal. the response was the same for Erup's Gyal A Run Dem Head. The vibe was elevated as patrons got involved, as they did dances like the Galis Swing and Sweep. Some stood back and watched as the life of the party, dancer Shortman, demonstrated some smooth flowing moves on the dancefloor. In addition to the quality music being played by the selectors, Wednesday nights at Quad also provides patrons with Appleton specials all night. Since the beginning of the event a few weeks ago, lucky patrons have won season passes, taking the strain off their pockets. "It's really great that some persons have won armbands. I got mine a couple weeks ago at an event and I am feeling very good and very thankful for that," said Kamilah Morrison, a regular patron. Today's ATI Fact! The theme for ATI's Rhythm n Booze this year is 'Return to Fantasy Island' and will be staged at Wavz Beach in Negril. The event will feature a 100-foot wall of speakers as well as fire-breathing displays. |
