Teen's body washed ashore |

The body of Sheman Bennett, the 18-year-old youth who was feared drowned at Port Royal on Friday, was found ashore the Port Royal Beach, Kingston on Sunday. Bennett is of a Coleyville Crescent, Washington Gardens, Kingston 20 address. Police told THE STAR that about 11:20 a.m., a passer-by saw the body ashore and alerted the police. The government pathologist was called and an on-the-spot post mortem which was conducted revealed that death was caused by drowning. The body was later removed to the morgue. The CCN had earlier reported that Bennett went to Port Royal on Friday. He went into the sea, got into difficulties and drowned before help could reach him. Port Royal police are investigating. |
