Two drown in separate incidents |

|
Two persons, including a 10-year-old boy, drowned in separate incidents in Portland and St Catherine on Sunday. Dead are Prince Charles of New Road, St Margaret's Bay, Portland, and 10-year-old Daniel Henry of Welsh Heights, Spanish Town, St Catherine. Police say Charles drowned in the Rio Grande at Snow Hill, Portland, while Henry drowned at Hellshire, Portmore, St Catherine. According to police reports, about 5 p.m., Charles and friends went to the river and were swimming. It's reported that he got into difficulties. An alarm was raised and he was later seen floating in the water. He was removed and taken to the Port Antonio Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Port Antonio police are investigating. missing Henry, police say, went swimming with family members in the sea at Hellshire about 11:50 a.m. Young Henry was swimming when it was discovered that he was missing. A search was launched and he was later found floating in the water. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Portmore police are investigating. |
