Couple murdered

The Montego Bay CIB is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a common-law couple at Marl Road, Rose Heights, St James, yesterday morning.

Dead are 31-year-old Derrick Cole and Marcia Bowen, 30, both of Marl Road.

Reports received are that about 11:45 a.m., Cole's relatives went to visit him after calls to his cellular phone went unanswered. His body was found submerged in a drum filled with water, while Bowen's body was found with multiple stab wounds in the kitchen. The police were called and the bodies removed to the morgue.

Investigations continue.

Man killed in crash

A man was killed after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a tree along the Petersfield main road in Westmoreland on Sunday night.

Dead is Jerome Heavens, 28, of Hartford district in the parish.

Reports are that about 10:30 p.m., Heavens was driving a Toyota motor car along the main road from Hartford towards Petersfield. On reaching a section of the roadway, he lost control of the vehicle which ran off the road and crashed into a tree. He sustained multiple injuries and was assisted to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment

Two missing from home

Sixteen-year-old Niyaka Green and 15-year-old Trudy-Ann Bignal, wards at the Glenhope Place of Safety on Maxfield Avenue, Kingston 13, have been reported missing from that institution since September 18.

Green is of dark complexion, stout build, about 157 centimetres (5' 2") tall and was dressed in a white blouse and plaid skirt.

Bignal is of dark complexion, slim build and about 157 centimetres tall. She was last seen dressed in a pink blouse and striped tights.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that about 10:30 a.m., Green left for school in the Corporate Area and has not been seen or heard from since.

Later that afternoon, personnel at the institution carried out a roll-call and discovered that Bignal was also missing.
