Sean Paul nabs second MOBO

Deejay Sean Paul nabbed his second MOBO award to date on Tuesday, copping the award for best reggae act.

Hosted at the SECC, Glasgow outside of London, Sean Paul won ahead of fellow Jamaicans Serani, who has an upcoming album to be released this month, Mavado, who recently released his A Better Tomorrow and Tarrus Riley, who released his third album Contagious.

Sean Paul in August, released his fourth album Imperial Blaze after a four year hiatus.

While the artiste didn't attend the ceremony, this is another award to add to a shelf which boasts a Grammy, Billboard and American Music Award trophies.

Sean Paul's album Imperial Blaze, which was produced entirely by Jamaican producers, including Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor who produced most of the songs, Jeremy Harding, Delano Thomas, Don Corleon, Craig 'Leftside' Parks, Arif Cooper, and Jason 'Jigzagula' Henriques - is still doing well.

The album's first single and video So Fine, produced by McGregor, has been doing well, while the music video for the McGregor-produced Press It Up was unofficially released. The album's second single, Hold My Hand, produced by Arif 'Supa Coop' Cooper was officially released world-wide on Tuesday.

The 20-track Imperial Blaze is Sean Paul's best international release since the deejay found his way to the Atlantic Records artiste roster. Thus far, the album has record-breaking sales in countries such as Japan, Switzerland, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and France.

The album also debuted atop the Billboard Top 10 Rap Albums Charts, becoming the first Jamaican and the first dancehall album to conquer that chart. It continues to hold its own on that chart, as well as the Billboard Reggae Albums, Hot 200 Albums and Hip-Hop/R&B Albums.
