Suspect in manager's murder killed

The Portmore police believe they may have killed one of the persons involved in the shooting death of Tools Hardware and Supplies general manager, Elva Mullings.

According to the police, an operation was conducted in the Caymanas area after 5 p.m. on Monday, during which the suspect was seen at a pub along Green Lane. It is said that the deceased pulled and pointed a gun in the direction of the police.

During a shoot-out the suspect was shot. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died. A revolver, with three live rounds, was taken from him.

A senior officer at the Portmore Police Station told THE STAR that investigations showed that fragments from the bullet of the deceased's gun, matched the fragments found from the bullets which killed Mullings.

Mullings was last week killed by gunmen as she exited her car at her home in Bridgeview, Portmore, St Catherine. She was shot in the upper body and face.
