The Marine Police on Thursday fished the body of an unidentified woman from the water at Old Hellshire Beach in Portmore, St Catherine.

The body, which was clad in a blue blouse, is of dark brown complexion, slim build and about 163 centimetres (5 ft 4 ins) long.

Information received by the Constabulary Communication Network is that about 12:15 p.m., residents saw the body in the water and summoned the police. The body was removed and taken to the morgue for post-mortem and identification.

The Portmore police are investigating.
