MAN SHOT DEAD

Jovean Clarke, 22, of Ellastowe Avenue, Kingston 11 was shot and killed by unknown assailants at his home yesterday. Reports reaching THE STAR are that about 1:40 p.m., Clarke was washing a motor vehicle at his gate when he was pounced on by men armed with guns. The hoodlums opened fire hitting him; he died on the spot. The police were summoned and investigators responded and processed the crime scene. The body was removed to the morgue. The Olympic Gardens Police are investigating.

MURDER IN GRANTS PEN

Carl 'Lance' Williams, 37, of Oddman Lane, Grants Pen, St Andrew, was shot dead by gunmen in the community on Saturday. Police say about 4:45 p.m., residents heard explosions and summoned the police. On the arrival of the lawmen, Williams' body with gunshot wounds was found lying on the roadway. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem. The Major Investigation Task Force is investigating.

COPS PROBE MURDER

Adrian Nembhard, 25, of Bob Allen Drive, Swallowfield, was shot and killed at Providence Pen in the Kingston 5 community on Saturday. Reports are that about 12:45 p.m., Nembhard and another man were sitting on a wall when they were approached by a gunman who opened fire hitting him. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead and his body removed to the morgue for post-mortem. It is not known if the other man was injured. The Half Way Tree CIB is investigating.

FIREARM SEIZED

The police seized an illegal firearm in Anchovy Square, St. James on Saturday. No one was arrested. Reports by the CCN are that about 6:50 p.m., a police team was on patrol in the area, when they observed a man acting suspiciously. When accosted, he reportedly dropped a bag and ran. The police gave chase; however, he managed to escape. The bag, when retrieved and searched, contained a .380 pistol containing six .380 cartridges. The Montego Bay CIB is investigating.
