There is no set time |
|||||
The lead story in Monday's STAR was quite an interesting one. The story told of a prophecy made by a church based in the United States, and its prediction that the world will end May 2011. According to these 'prophets', there are clues in the Bible that speak to this date. The group also said this date is the 7,000th anniversary of the Great Flood. Though, Christian theology predicts another apocalyptic event, we are also taught that no one knows the hour of Christ's second coming. Therefore, it is hard for many to believe this prediction holds any validity. What many in the story said, and what we know to be true, is that there is no set time for the coming of God. Therefore, we must all make our lives right with Him so, when he does come, we will be able to go with him to the promised land. While this prediction may not come to pass, we hope it will at least remind people that there will be a second coming of Christ. Perhaps this story will encourage everyone who believes in Him to prepare for His arrival. As the reverend in the story said, no one has a key to the mind of God, we can, therefore, only watch and wait and live as he would want us to until he comes. |
