Police have not yet held anyone in connection with the minor break-in at the accounting department of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last week. In the incident, a door was tampered with and a $100 note stolen. According to the Half-Way-Tree police, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. last Tuesday. Police told THE STAR that a female who was in the building at the time left for approximately 20 minutes to print a document. She exited and locked the office door. Upon her return, she realised something was wrong with the door. She then realised the door was ajar, the light, which she left on, was off and the blinds drawn shut. The female later realised that $100 was missing. Staff members told THE STAR the money was stolen from the woman's purse and indicated she is lucky there was not a lot of money there at the time. The police speculate that the culprit's main objective was to acquire a large sum of money. The Half-Way-Tree police are investigating. |
