Goat thieves attack farmer |

A livestock farmer in Portmore is crying out for help after losing 50 goats in less than a month. Kemar Daley, 25, told THE STAR that he feels that his plight is being neglected. "I need the assistance of the government to get proper fencing for the place, so that I can keep mi business safe," Daley said. He said that yesterday morning he was almost shot, after men fired at him when he called out for them to leave his goats. Daley said that he decided to go to his farm, which is located along Municipal Boulevard, yesterday morning to make checks after being affected by previous incidents of theft. To add insult to injury, the farmer said that after being shot at, when he called the police he got no assistance. When contacted by THE STAR, operations officer for the St Catherine South Division, Deputy Superintendent Clive Blair, said however that the police do not discriminate in serving residents. "I am not aware of any reports being made ... . All reports are to be treated seriously," Blair said. Another farmer, Greg Gordon, was shot and killed in the same area earlier this year. |
