Green takes Hugo 10k |

Rupert Green and St Jago's schoolgirl Shevel McDonald were the winners at the recently held Hugo Chambers 10K road race at Jamaica College. Green, running unattached, covered the 10k course in 33 min, 17 sec ahead of Andrew Gutzmore (34:14). Jamaica Defence Force's (JDF) pair of Phillips Edward (34:52) and Joshua Davis (35:25) were third and fourth respectively, while Conroy Crossman (35:27) was fifth. On the female side, McDonald crossed the finish line in 42 min, 5 sec, beating Areita Martin, running unattached in 42:36. McDonald's schoolmates Antonnette Grey (44:19), ShaunaKay South (44:31) and Jhevere Hall (45:04) were third, fourth and fifth respectively. In the one mile run, Red Hills All-Age student Christopher Miles ran 4 min, 53 sec to beat Meadowbrook High's Hosiani Dunkley (4:58) and St Jago's Frater Garland (5:12). St Jago's Danisia Grant, who finished sixth overall, was the top female runner in 5 min and 17 sec. Monifa Green of Central Branch was second in 5:25 while Wolmer's Shauna Helps took third place in 5:26. JC's pair of Waquar DaCosta (10:31) and Michael Hedman (10:45) were the top men in the two-mile run, which saw Kingston College's pair of Steven Sayles (10:46) and Dominic Powell (10:53) finishing third and fourth respectively. In this section, Alpha's Abigaye Julye was the top female in 12 min, 40 sec, beating Wolmer's Kissi-Ann Brown (12:52).
