GUNS FOUND, MAN HELD A 20-year-old man was arrested by lawmen who found an illegal firearm at a house he occupies at Anthony Road, Kingston 5 on Saturday. His identity is being withheld pending investigations. Police say about 11 a.m., a team carried out an operation at Anthony Road where they found a Springfield Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol loaded with twenty- two 9mm cartridges. The man who was the sole occupant at the house was subsequently arrested. Further investigations took officers to another house in the community where a M16 magazine loaded with thirty 5.56 cartridges was found buried in the backyard. No arrest was made in connection with this seizure. ELDERLY MAN KILLED Kenneth 'Roger' Wynter, 67, of Bammy Hall district, Kitson Town, St Catherine, was killed by gunmen in the community yesterday. Reports say about 3:30 a.m., Wynter and friends were at an establishment in the community when a group of gunmen attacked them. They opened fire hitting Wynter, who died on the spot. The others ran and managed to escape injuries. The police were alerted, the crime scene processed and the body removed to the morgue. The St Catherine North Homicide Unit is investigating. Rochelle Bertram, 22, of Dover district, St Mary was found shot to death in a house at Mount James, St Andrew on Saturday night. Police say about 9:50 p.m., lawmen were summoned to a house in the community where it was reported that a woman was killed. On their arrival, Bertram's body was seen with a gunshot wound on the floor. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem. Police are seeking Clayton Ricketts, 30, of Mount James for questioning in relation to the homicide. MAN SHOT DEAD
Detectives from the Old Harbour Police Station in St Catherine North are now delving for clues to solve the homicide of Delroy 'Tenderlist' Sanderson, 39, at Terminal Road in the community. Police say about 5:50 p.m on Saturday., Sanderson was standing along the roadway when he was approached by three gunmen who shot him repeatedly. He died on the spot. The police were called, the crime scene processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem. |
