Why, oh why?

Dancehall personality and graffiti artist, L.A. Lewis, is in the news yet again. This time it's because he has decided to drop the case he has pending against fellow deejay Mr G, in exchange for a clash at this year's Sting.

It seems Lewis is willing to do away with the assault charges he had filed against Mr G, as the latter has agreed to participate in a lyrical battle with the artiste, who is more known for his name being plastered all over Corporate Area walls and for his uncanny knack to invent words at the drop of a hat, than for his songs.

In fact, the last song we can remember hearing from this artiste is 'Why did the Floods have to Came'. And no, that is not an error. That is, in fact, the title of the song.

Mr G, in a story published in the Wednesday STAR, said this clash will make Christmas merry for Sting patrons, and indeed it will. For this clash shall be nothing less than a celebrity episode of Comedy Buss. We think in order for a clash to happen there must be two popular artistes, with equally popular songs. In this case, however, there is one artiste and a businessman/graffiti artist/ public relations officer and, he says, a close friend of Her Royal Majesty, the Queen of England.

To say this will be interesting would be a dramatic understatement. It is left to be seen, however, how Sting fans will react to this. Will they be delighted to hear that they will be treated to a comedy show? Or will they see this as a grand waste of precious minutes that could have been given to their favourite artistes?
