A man, believed to be mentally challenged, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday for stabbing someone to death. Leighton Henry, of a Kingston 6 address, is charged with murder. The court is alleging that Henry used a knife to stab a man all over the body. The investigating officer said the dead man, who was stabbed nine times, had wounds to his face, neck, chest and back. The accused man's lawyer told the court that his client was provoked by the now deceased and that the instrument used in the murder was owned by the deceased man. The lawyer further indicated that Henry was attacked by the deceased and has injuries on his hand and in his palm, which resulted from him taking away the weapon from the now deceased. Henry was given a return date of November 20, when it will be decided if he is mentally fit for bail. |
