Still no motive in Lakes Pen double murder

The Spanish Town police are yet to establish a motive in Monday's double murder at the intersection of Lakes Pen Road and Grange Lane in St Catherine.

Dead are Fabian Clarke, 24, of Cassava Pond, Ewarton and 46-year-old William Wilson of Westchester, Portmore, both in the parish.

Police said about 4:30 p.m., Clarke and Wilson were among passengers in a taxi heading from Portmore to Spanish Town.

Something reportedly went wrong with the vehicle and the driver stopped at the intersection to check.

While the passengers were waiting, they were approached by two gunmen, who robbed them of cash, cellphones and other items.

On leaving, they opened fire hitting Clarke and Wilson. The police were called and the two men taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where Clarke was pronounced dead and Wilson died while receiving medical attention.
