Arcadia crush Night Shift |

Arcadia Domino Club of St Thomas handed Night Shift Domino Club of Yallahs a whopping defeat, with a resounding score of 300 to 155 in the St Thomas division 1 Domino League finals on Tuesday night. In a lopsided affair, Arcadia crowned themselves Champions of the East, as they dished out a humbling defeat to the hapless Night Shift, who for the second time in the competition, tasted defeat at the hands of a team that has now become their nemesis. The finals were played at the Hampton Court Community Centre. For their effort Arcadia made themselves $70,000 richer with Night Shift capturing $30,000. praising the teams Michael Macleod the Councillor of the Dalvey Division, who are the title sponsors of the competition, has pledged his contribution of the prize money at a date and location to be announced. Austin Gordon the president of the St Thomas Domino League praised the competitive and professional manner with which the teams conducted themselves. He, however, lamented the state of the fledging league and is begging for corporate support for the game in terms of sponsorship and general support. proper management Gordon believes that like football, athletics and netball in Jamaica, domino if supported, properly managed and regulated can be a profitable venture for the business community and can serve as an avenue for youth development. The MVP's of the final were Dwight 'Ninja' Swaby, his partner Devon 'Roots' McFarlane along with the pair of Sheldon 'Mad Coolie' Henry and his partner Everton 'Bullsoup' Henry. Both pairs contributed a total of 212 points. |
