'It's Baby not Gary' says Busy's camp

Deejay Busy Signal

Deejay Busy Signal's one drop rendition of American singer Phil Collins song One More Night, has been raising eyebrows with what persons believe is the use of the word 'Gary' in the song.

However, the artiste's management is adamant that the word is not 'Gary' but 'Baby'. For a number of weeks persons have been speculating on air and on the Internet over the word they believe is 'Gary' in the song's chorus. On www.youtube.com a number of persons have also been making comments on the song.

One person defended the deejay saying, "him say baby no Gary, clean da wax out ya ears." Another person claimed that it was the effect of the auto-tune used in the song that has caused the confusion. Up to yesterday there were others online convinced the word was 'Gary', as someone commented on youtube, "di man sey Gary inna di climax a di chorus... luu," while another said, "Gary gimme one more night? Him a sing 'bout a girl, but him muss listen to it before it publish. Have the big Gary in deh, him muss hear it."

When THE WEEKEND STAR spoke to Pansy Dixon of Juke Boxx Productions, that manages Busy Signal, she confirmed that it was in fact not Gary. She said, "it is definitely not Gary, I don't even know where persons came with that idea from."

Checks online for the lyrics of the song also confirmed that the word used should be 'baby'. According to www.6lyrics.com, the chorus is as follows: "One more night/Gimme just one more night/Girl, one more night/Cause I can't live without you.

One more night/Baby, gimme one more night girl/A million more nights/Cause I can't sleep without you."

According to Dixon, the camp started hearing persons commenting on the song since October and the deejay is aware of what persons have said. The song was released to the public since as early as May of this year. According to Dixon, Busy Signal has been busy in studio working on his third yet-to-be-tilted album. In September of last year he released his sophomore album 'Loaded' with popular songs such as Jail, Tic Toc and Whine Pon Di Edge.

The deejay will leave the island today to perform in Barbados and St Vincent.
