A sad reminder |
|||||
The constant reports of it happening in the society brings about a fair conclusion that it may never stop. Every so often we hear of men being hauled before the courts on charges of carnal abuse, but its frequency never seems to get any less. According to an article in Tuesday's STAR, a 53-year-old man was slapped with such a charge following an alleged sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl. Thirteen? Sad to say, some may actually argue girls younger than that age are having sex. But still, to think that a 13-year-old is having sex does definitely raise some concerns and eyebrows. Our nation's girls are being targeted by worthless, immoral men who continue to take away their innocence, oftentimes with the use of money and gifts. This is another sad reminder of the troubles which oftentimes face our children and, when detected, need to be dealt with immediately and to the full extent of the law. Our young women need to be protected at all costs. They are future mothers but they need not be pushed into situations which will make them into mothers too early. The need for mothers and fathers to play a huge part in their daughters' lives cannot be emphasised enough. They will need all the guidance and protection they can get since some men intend to make them targets. |
