Car, tractor collision leaves mom and son hospitalised

A 39-year-old woman and her 14-year-old son are at hospital in critical condition following a collision between the Honda motor car they were travelling in and a tractor along Monroe Road, St Andrew, yesterday.

The tractor driver, a 39-year-old St Catherine man, has been taken into police custody.

Police said about 7:30 a.m. both vehicles were travelling along the roadway when the tractor collided with the car. Both vehicles ended up on the compound of the Sts Peter and Paul Preparatory School.

The woman and her son were taken to hospital where they were admitted.

The Matilda's Corner police said the injured woman had to undergo surgery.
