Bang Diddy shoots first video |

Mel Cooke, Star Writer
When he performed at 'Jordu Live' in April this year, Bang Diddy showed a jolly personality to go with his deejaying skills, riding a slow rhythm and tickling the ladies' fancy with a repeated 'bang, bang, bang ...'. Fast-forward a few months and Bang Diddy has moved up a notch from the amateur showing he was a part of at the fashion boutique turned temporary catwalk cum up close and personal concert venue, shooting his first music video. It was shot mainly at the Afrodiziac Club in Portmore Town Centre, St Catherine. The song is African Daughter, produced by APS Production, and Diddy is naturally happy. He explained to The Portmore STAR that he chose Portmore for the shoot because it is familiar territory for him. The song also explores familiar territory, as it is about a woman who has stuck by her partner's side through thick and thin for an extended period of time. Bang Diddy sings: "She a di only one mi walk wid hand in hand, Simplicity me African she deh pon." Bang Diddy has a somewhat steamy background, having been in the Fire Brigade for 12 years. Still, music was not new to him when pushed further into the music business last year; he had been performing for his José Marti High schoolmates from his teenage years. And chances are that Bang Diddy, with his dapper look, will be the ladies' pet - which is a turnaround. He once ran a pet store in Portmore.
