Harbour View battle rivals Waterhouse |

League leaders Harbour View on 28 points are set to entertain Waterhouse in a mouth-watering clash at the Harbour View Mini Stadium tomorrow as action continues in the Digicel Premier League. Fresh from their impressive lynching of former table-toppers St Georges along the Portland coast-line at Lynch Park, after that team had gone unbeaten at the venue since the start of the season, Harbour View must refocus in time to deal with the threat of a Waterhouse outfit that have found their footing in the league after a horrid start to the season. After failing to win in their first five games of the season, the Drewsland team has shown glimpses of their potential on their way to notching up an impressive run, suffering only one defeat in their last nine games. In fact, Waterhouse (5th place) is just eight points behind Harbour View and coach Geoffrey Maxwell has made it clear that his team is gunning for the second End-of-Round final. Second-placed Tivoli Gardens (26 points) will host their not so neighbourly rivals, Arnett Gardens, in another game that pits a late bloomer with a more consistent team. The 'Junglist', like Waterhouse got off to a slow start after losing their first four games in the competition and are just one place behind the Waterhouse team in the standings. point of concern A point of concern for fans of the defending champions is that their team has not won a single game in their last four matches (excluding the first End-of-Round final) with a string of disappointing draws. Just as in seasons past, St Georges have struggled to maintain their early season form and have failed to secure a win since the start of the second round, with two draws and a loss in midweek being responsible for their slide from the peak of the table to the third placed spot on 26 points. They will be keen to rebuild the walls at their Lynch Park fort after Harbour View's demolition job and will fancy their chances against last placed August Town (10 points), who despite Wednesday's surprise 0-0 draw against Tivoli, does not pose much of a threat to anyone. Portmore United, in seventh place on 17 points, continue to look a shadow of themselves with a miserable campaign so far, compounded by their recent 0-1 loss to 11th placed Humble Lions on their own field. They will face a more serious test when Boys' Town's 'Red Brigade' pays them a visit at Ferdie Neita Park. Boys' Town will be looking to better their fourth place position as they hunt a top-three spot for the first time this season. In other games Humble Lions will look to build on their midweek win when they welcome Sporting Central Academy at Effortville while Rivoli will host Village United at the Spanish Town Prison Oval. |
