Ganja found in warder's crotch |

A correctional officer assigned to the St Catherine Adult Correctional Centre, was yesterday taken into custody by the Spanish Town Police for breaches of Dangerous Drugs Act. He has been identified as Justine Turner, 28-year-old, of Spanish Town, St Catherine. Reports from the police are that about 2:20 p.m.,Turner was at work when he was searched by his superiors. During the search a package with 246 pellets of vegetable matter resembling ganja, was found in his crotch. The police were called in and a further search of the warder's locker revealed another 30 packages of ganja. Police also searched Turner's home where more drugs were found. Turner was subsequently charged by Detective Corporal Kirk Roache of the Spanish Town Police Station. Just last week, a correctional officer at the South Camp Road rehabilitation Centre was arrested after being accused of attempting to smuggle contraband into the penal institution. - R.T. |
