Thirty-six-year-old Charmaine Buchanan of King Street, Linstead, St Catherine, sustained burns in a fire, which destroyed her three-apartment house yesterday.

Reports received by the CCN are that about 6:00 a.m., fire was seen coming from the house and the fire brigade and police were alerted. One unit from the Linstead Fire Department extinguished the blaze. Buchanan, who was inside the building at the time of the fire, sustained burns and was taken to the Linstead Hospital where she was admitted in serious condition.

Loss is estimated at $2 million. It is not known if the house was insured.

The Linstead police are investigating.
