The first family of Portmore will be adding their name to the business landscape on the Port Henderson Road more popularly known as Back Road.

This, as the wife of Mayor Keith Hinds, Majorie, has opened a jerk centre called Sundayz by the Bay, that is set to bring a difference to the hip strip.

"Yes, my wife Majorie is the owner of the business which will have a jerk centre and bar that will have jazz music every Sunday," Mayor Hinds told THE PORTMORE STAR.

Hinds said the business will have a wide array of dishes including jerk fish, roast fish, garlic lobster, jerk rabbit, jerk chicken and a number of beverages to complement the food on offer.

As for the scores of illegal 'business women' along the stretch, Hinds said they will no longer be a problem. "We are going to clear the prostitutes from the area, as that's the very best business area in Portmore and the concept must reflect that," he said.

Meanwhile, head of the Portmore Citizen Advisory Council, Winston Wright, said any legitimate business venture is welcomed to the municipality.
