A former police constable is among three men who have found guilty in connection with a series of robberies of returning residents.

Those convicted of several counts of robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition are Constable Horace Roberts, Robert Hurd and Richard Ewart.

They were convicted in the Gun Court yesterday.

Allegations against the men were that between 2005 and 2006, a number of returning residents were trailed from the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston and subsequently robbed at gunpoint just as they were about to enter their homes in several parishes.

Investigators described Roberts as the mastermind behind the robberies.

Following months of investigations, the three men were eventually arrested and charged with 30 counts of armed robbery.
