Rebel Salute, one of the major events on the annual entertainment calendar, has earned a reputation as one of the leading celebrations of music in the hemisphere.

Tony Rebel has taken the event from a fresh face on the entertainment scene to become a staple on the calendar of events for reggae fans.

This year the event was a grand success and promoters and sponsors alike were extremely pleased.

Joseph Oates, brand manager for D&G Malta, one of the sponsors of the event, said that as a sponsor he could not have asked for anymore.

"The event was well executed and showcased pure, clean lyrics from some of Jamaica's top acts. Malta was happy to be a part of the staging for sure. This is our second consecutive year of sponsoring this event and we are quite pleased," said Oates.

"As it relates to product visibility and availability, Rebel Salute turned out great for D&G Malta. Persons were seen consuming all three flavours throughout the night as the specially discounted price found favour with many of them," he added.

"We had promoted our partnership with Little Ochie where patrons could purchase Malta meal deals at the venue. We also had an ongoing promotion on the ground where consumers could enter to win $50,000 and this attracted quite a few patrons," he continued.

When quizzed about the sponsorship of this event over others, Oates said that Rebel Salute fits in with the brands' campaign and target market. "At Malta we currently have a Fuelled Naturally campaign going on where we try as a natural brand to partner with events that will showcase anything genuine, native or innate. Rebel Salute is one such event. The event shows off our indigenous music and the pure roots rocking reggae that we all know and love," he said.

Oates says that D&G Malta will definitely be on board next year and look forward to that partnership where they will offer even more to the patrons.

"Rebel Salute is one of those stagings that are important to the continued visibility and success of brand Jamaica. We realize that through our sponsorship the country will benefit," Oates said.

Malta will also be a part of the upcoming Sigma Run set for February 21.
