A 53-year-old man died at the May Pen Hospital after being shot by unknown assailants at his home at Raymond, Hayes, Clarendon, Tuesday morning.

The man killed has been identified as Cecil Alexander.

Reports are that about 12:30 a.m., explosions were heard at Alexander's home. Shortly after, he ran to his neighbour's yard, bleeding from a gunshot wound, and later collapsed. The police were alerted and, on their arrival, they assisted the injured man to hospital, where he died while being treated.

The Hayes Police, who are probing Alexander's death, are appealing to anyone with information about the killer/s to contact 986-5130, Crime Stop at 311, Kingfish at 811, police 119 emergency numbers or the nearest police station.
