From a young age Karl Morrison has been driven by his love for music. From a music teacher then to a producer and later singing, Morrison has travelled most roads in his musical journey. Morrison said that during high school his Wednesdays were not dedicated to math and the sciences, but to sneaking out to practise music at the St Peters and Paul Church where he first learnt to play the keyboards. Years later, Morrison has mastered the piano, guitar, bass guitar and the recorder, having learnt classical music at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. After school, Morrison was a regular on the studio scene. He was often found hanging out at the Vendetta studio where he was inspired watching producer Computer Paul at work. "I started developing my talent from early, and while learning I was singing cabaret in Negril, as well," he said. In the producing world, Morrison has made some major contributions, producing for Arif Cooper the 'National Pride' rhythm which featured songs such as Ugly So from Kip Rich and Black-Er. Morrison also made the rhythm for Sean Paul's latest single released on video, Hold My Hand, as well as the controversial One More Night and Night Shift for Busy Signal. While singing and producing, Morrison was doing background vocals for the likes of Luciano and Gyptian, among others. own label Now the artiste, together with his brother, has put out his own label, called Star Player Music Group/Black Dutch, on which he does stuff for himself as well as Busy Signal and producer Shane Brown. Morrison worked alongside Brown for the remake of the 'Boops' rhythm on which he also has a track titled Gal Dem Want Me. Alongside Brown, is he also looking to release the 'Silver Plate' rhythm on which he has Choice by Choice with Timeka Marshall. For 2010, the singer has a few tracks of his own to be released, the first being the romantic Love You, which he produced himself. Describing his style of music as 'contemporary reggae', Morrison is ready to take on the world. Influenced by international group Boys II Men, Morrison is a believer in singing to his maximum ability and sees himself as a household name, in the near future. "Singing and producing go hand in hand, so people can expect more good productions, and me trying to get myself out there as an artiste with good quality songs," he said.
