|
MAN STABBED TO DEATH The Hunts Bay police have commenced a probe into the stabbing death of Jermaine Miller, 32, at his home at Elspeth Avenue, Kingston 11 yesterday. Police said about 4 a.m., residents heard a commotion coming from Miller's residence and called the police, who found his body in the yard with stab wounds and his head bashed in. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue. Investigation continues. CABBIE SHOT DEAD Twenty-seven-year-old taxi operator, Clifton Johnson, of Reading Avenue, Spanish Town, St Catherine, was shot dead by gunmen on the Thompson Pen main road in the parish on Saturday. Police said about 4:35 p.m., Johnson was driving a grey Toyota Probox along the main road near Munroe Crescent when he was shot. He died on the spot. The police were called and detectives went to the area and processed the crime scene. Johnson's body was removed to the morgue for post-mortem. MAN'S BODY FOUND The body of Joseph Williams, 55, believed to be mentally challenged, was found at Mt Salus, Brandon Hill, St Andrew, yesterday. Reports are that about 8:30 a.m., a resident saw Williams' body in a gully and called the police. An on-the-spot post-mortem proved inconclusive. The body was removed to the morgue. The Stony Hill police are investigating. COPS KILL TWO Alvo Campbell of Butts Crescent, Kingston 2, and an unidentified man, were fatally shot after they challenged police in a shoot-out in the area on Saturday. An illegal gun was seized in the incident. Police said about 6:30 a.m., during an operation, gunmen opened fire at the lawmen, who returned the fire hitting two of the men. A third escaped. One 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol containing 12 rounds, was taken from one of the injured men, later identified as Campbell. Eleven 9mm and four .38 cartridges were found in the unidentified man's pocket. They died at hospital. The Bureau of Special Investigations has commenced a probe. |
