In what many believe was a reprisal for the death of two men in a gun battle between police and alleged criminals in west Kingston, a woman was shot dead by gunmen in the Cross Roads area yesterday.

Dead is 39-year-old Karen Henry.

Reports are that the woman, who is reportedly the mother-in-law of a policeman, and from the Hannah Town community, was standing at a gate along Lincoln Road, near Studio One Boulevard when she was killed.

Reports are that about 5:55 p.m., two men on foot came up to her and opened fire. She was shot in the head and died on the spot.

The Cross Roads Police are investigating.
