Daley hoping for full recovery |

Omar Daley BRADFORD CITY, (CMC) Injury-prone Reggae Boy Omar Daley is hoping to put a wretched year behind him after delivering the winner for his club Bradford City in their 2-1 triumph over Aldershot Town on Saturday. The goal was the 28-year-old's first after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury that kept him out of action for an extended period. Daley made his return two months ago, but said finding his stride again had been more difficult than expected. "I thought I could just come back and just run past defenders straight away, but it's not that easy," said Daley. "The reality has hit me just how hard it is when you've had this big injury and it takes time. But, I just hope these niggles and injuries stop coming now and I can get going again." 25-yard thunderbolt In his first start under newly installed manager Peter Taylor, the midfielder unleashed a 25-yard thunderbolt which beat goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz and handed the hosts full points at the Coral Windows Stadium. His goal came after Anthony Straker put Aldershot Town ahead in the eighth minute in the League Two fixture and James Hansen equalised six minutes later. Daley said he had been inspired by his gaffer, Peter Taylor, who told him a player of his quality should be a regular on the scoresheet with a goal every three games. "He wants me to get in the box and be in and around the ball, and then things will just fall for me," Daley explained. "I don't mind having a target because I need to push on and, hopefully, my luck will turn." Taylor, who took over the side last month, praised Daley's efforts especially coming off injury. "It's a tricky one with someone who's been out for so long, because you never know whether to start him or not. But he did very well," said the former England international. "I'm really pleased for Omar because he's always got a smile on his face. He's a good player and it's taken a lot of hard work to get him back."
