Students and staff of the Meadowbrook High School were left traumatised on Thursday after two men armed with knives entered the school and robbed several students. The robbers also reportedly got into an altercation with one teacher. Reports according to the Constant Spring police, are that sometime in the afternoon, near 2 p.m., the intruders invaded the school and brandished knives. They proceeded to rob several students of cash, laptops, jump drives and other valuables. THE STAR was also told that men also engaged in an altercation with one teacher whose class they had invaded. Deputy Superintendent of Police Altermoth Campbell told THE STAR that concerned citizens saw what was happening on the school grounds and alerted the police. He said the men were caught and some of the stolen items were recovered. DSP Campbell said one of the alleged robbers was 18 years old. Though reports had been surfacing that the men had gone to the school in search of the children of a popular entertainer, the police say they have received no such information. The police said the men are currently in custody, but have not yet been charged. |
