Investigators from the St Catherine south police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man who was shot and killed on Mandela Highway on Sunday night.

The dead man has since been identified as Ranford Reeves of Potosi Avenue, Pembroke Hall, Kingston 20.

Information from the Constabulary Communication Network is that police responded to reports of gunshots being fired in a section of Central Village in St Catherine.

On the arrival, the police saw Reeves' body on the roadway with a single gunshot wound.

The police say they are yet to establish a motive for the murder.
