Left: Natoya Goule. Right: Wolmer's Kamal Fuller - Ricardo Makyn FOLLOWING a successful season so far, the Wolmer's pair of Kamal Fuller and Ramone Bailey will be hoping to continue that trend as they will be the first set of Jamaicans to compete on the opening day of the CAC Junior Track and Field Championships in Santo Domingo today. Both will compete in the Under-20 boy's long jump and Fuller, after success at the Carifta Games and the Penn Relays, will be hoping for more overseas success. The Jamaican team will be hoping for good things today despite a very taxing day yesterday, as the team arrived late in the evening following over three hours delay at the Norman Manley International Airport. The late arrival of the Jamaicans, who missed the opening ceremony, also saw them fail to carry out any kind of training session. There will be 25 finals on the opening day and Jamaican athletes should be among the mix. On the track there will be the first round and finals in the 100, 300 and 400 metres hurdles along with straight finals in the girls Under-17 1200 metres, Under-17 boys 1500 metres and Under-20 boys and girls 1500 metres. There will also be relay action as first-round action in the 4x100 metres for both sexes in the Under-17 and Under-20 categories. |
