Cop shoots cop

Investigations are continuing into the accidental shooting of a policeman by one of his colleagues at the Freeport Police Station barracks room on Monday night.

Reports are that about 5:30 p.m. on Monday evening, the officers were in the barracks preparing for duty, when one officer was in the process of clearing his gun. It is reported that the weapon went off accidentally and his colleague was shot in the abdomen.

The injured cop was taken to the hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.

The Montego Bay CIB is investigating.
