Chinese nationals set for July 28 trial

Jason Kong and Yunfeng Jhang, the Chinese nationals who were arrested in connection with the confiscation of over $25 million in illegal goods, are to be tried on July 28.

Kong, 50, and Jhang, 30, of Beverly Hills, St Andrew, are before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court charged with breaching the Trademark Act and possession of uncustomed goods.

Allegations are that on April 27, millions of Jamaican, US, British and Canadian currencies were taken from the house located at Shenstone Drive in Beverly Hills. In addition, a large quantity of counterfeit cigarettes and other illegally imported goods were seized.

Three motor vehicles were also confiscated. The men had their bails extended until the trial date.
