Fisherman offered bail

A fisherman, who was found in possession of counterfeit notes, appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

The accused, Arron Johnson, was charged with possession of counterfeit notes and uttering forged documents.

Johnson told the court that the money appeared to be legitimate and he did not suspect that he was duped when he received the money from a female known to him. He told the court that the female handed him the money to purchase ice cream from a restaurant in New Kingston.

Johnson also defended himself by informing the court that he has never gotten in trouble with the law before.

Johnson was offered $20,000 bail with surety. He will return to court on August 31 for trial.
