![]() ![]() George Henry - Pastor Morene D'Aguilar GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer Woman Pastor Morene D'Aguilar is undaunted by traditionalists who believe that women should not hold ministerial responsibilities in the church. "In the Old Testament there was even a woman judge. In the New Testament it was women who first found out that Jesus was risen from the dead; and then they went out and broadcast the news when the other disciples were in hiding, as it were," said pastor D'Aguilar. Morene D' Aguilar is a woman associate pastor at the End Time Ministry Church in Manchester. In addition to that role, she teaches, preaches and is in charge of new converts at her church. She says that throughout the Bible it is seen where women have always played significant roles for the Lord and she is sure that God is still using women. She said traditionalists who think that women should not be leading services or hold leadership positions in the church did not intimidate her. The church leader added that she remained unconcerned about what men might say, because her focus was on God. women and God "I am assured in my own heart that God wants to use women; and God has used women in the past and continues to use women tremendously; so I am not at all intimidated by what anyone wants to say. I am just about doing what God wants," she said. The former member of another denomination told THE STAR that where she currently serves was where God led her to be. "I had intended just to visit around for quite a while because I needed some rest. I did not intend to do any pastoring for about a year or so; and then the Lord just led me here to a revival meeting which was being run by Prophetess Lona Copeland-Blake. I read her books and said "I would love to attend," testified D'Aguilar. She noted that after several visits to the End Time Ministry Church, the Lord confirmed for her that there was where she should be and she has decided to stay there. The pastor noted that she has experienced many miracles since taking up her post at the church. She highlighted persons being delivered from various illnesses, such as the crippled made to walk, among other miracles under the power of the Holy Spirit. Feedback:pehenrya@hotmail.com |
