A mother and her 15-year-old daughter who were under investigation following the death of the teen's father in Mountain View, St Andrew, were charged with murder on Thursday.

Police reports are that the father, Franklin Jackson, from Jarrett Lane, died after he was reportedly beaten during an incident involving the two females.

An officer close to the investigation told THE STAR that the autopsy revealed that the man was killed as a result of the injuries he received on the day of the incident.

The police said Jackson complained about not having any feelings in his legs shortly after he was badly beaten and thrown out of his home, slightly conscious and naked.

Information revealed that the teen and her father were involved in a bitter argument which resulted in the father hitting her. It is reported that the child's mother ran to her assistance.

It is alleged that the mother confronted the father. During an ensuing argument, he was attacked and beaten all over his body. The police said that the man was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital by residents. He died four days later.
